Flower and the girl
Arguing with mother is inviting nightmares for the coming two days at least. We suddenly become the victim of cold treatment from our family members, especially mothers. Although I never try to get into any trouble with my mother, subconsciously, I make my mother angry.
The same happened, on the last day. During our regular walks, I unconsciously got into an argument with my mother. I realized the consequences of my blunder just after one minute only. My mother’s anger was visible on her face. She stopped answering any of my queries. I realized the depth of the blunder I had just performed. We were yet to complete our walk. Walking, slowly and silently, I knew something was going on in her mind perhaps, she took my words too seriously.
After 10 minutes, we finally completed our walk and went to sit in the park. We both were sitting and silently observing our surroundings. Two ladies were sitting diagonally opposite me, along with a playful baby who was busy in her world. The sight of her playfulness was enticing to mind.
Suddenly, I saw a girl aged between 8–10 years old, with yellow flowers in her hand, approaching her steps towards the ladies sitting on the bench. The Yellow flowers were distributed among all the women and the kid by the girl. One of the ladies was asking the kid to say ’thanks´ to her. Then the girl turned towards me. I could see her little steps approaching us, and there she came and offered the left two flowers to mother and me. I saw my mother smiling. That sight was such a relief to me, as she was so angry at me. I said, ‘thank you to the girl, and, with all her innocence, she replied, ‘You are welcome’.
This cute gesture by the small girl literally made my day. For a few minutes, I was replaying what just had happened.
This instance made me wonder about the magic of an effortless but cute gesture on someone.
