My struggles with a Chameleon.

A chameleon had entered my washroom this noon.

But I had no idea. I was busy with my studies.

And suddenly my brother came, “Di, come there is a daring work for you, he said while holding my hands and making me walk to the washroom.

Well, it was not tough to guess. I was sure there must be cockroaches or lizards. And Yeah, I was right!

Oh, I forgot to mention — My brothers feel super dreadful when cockroaches and lizards are around!!

But, wait.. wait

Did I mention, I myself was frightened at the sight of what I saw next — my battle was not with a lizard or with a cockroach, rather I had to struggle with a Chameleon!

Frankly, I myself got frightened in its presence, because of his ability to move fast, change color, and elongated neck.

But, since I had to prove my valor, I went forward and struggled for straight six hours to make it go out of the washroom.

I didn’t want it to kill. But letting it enter our living area was also a ‘big no’! So, it was better for it to go outside the window from which it probably had made its entry.

I kept a wood near the window, as the tiles cemented on the wall make it slippery and nearly impossible for the Chameleon to climb outside the window. So, the wood was definitely helpful for it.

In the beginning, I guess the Chameleon could not understand that the wood was the only thing that could assist it in going outside. But, my constant throwing of water over it made it finally climb the woods. For once, it was able to get at the top of the window. Now, the only last thing that it was supposed to do is to go outside.

But, oh man!

After all the struggles, it fell back to the washroom’s floor. It meant I had to spend another hour assisting it to go outside.

I was told to kill it but..No, I couldn’t agree on it!

I started to push it again to climb on the wood and go outside.

This time there was a change in plan. I decided to let it find the correct way to go outside of the window once it reached the top.

And..yeah with each of its steps moving to go outside of the window, I found myself saying — Yes..yes, you are going in the right direction..Go..go.

As soon as the chameleon made its way outside of the window, I immediately closed the window.

I thus took a gasp of relief!

Although the struggle was time-consuming, I got to learn an important lesson —

If it is important to you,

never give up;

learn lessons from mistakes;

improvise and try again;

sooner or later, either of two things will happen —

you will either achieve your goal or will find another way!
